Reporting to parents

Dear Parents and Caregivers

On Wednesday 1 July, your child will be bringing home their Semester One 2020 school report. The reports this semester will look different from usual. Due to the significant interruptions to learning as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic; all Western Australian Education Department Schools will not be providing individual grades to learning areas. Teachers will be providing an individual effort to each learning area, along with a written comment on progress and achievement for English and Mathematics. Teachers will still provide an overall written comment and allocate an evaluation to overall Attitude, Behaviour and Effort.

If teachers have concerns about your child’s progress, they will indicate on the report that a parent teacher meeting is requested. Likewise, parents who would like a parent teacher interview to discuss their child’s individual progress and achievement are asked to contact their child’s teacher directly, or through the school email; dianella.pc@education.wa.edu.au

One hard copy of the report will be sent home with your child, if for any reason you require an additional copy to be sent home, or to a different address please email through a request to the school.

Thank you for your understanding in this matter and your ongoing support of the school and your child’s education during this challenging semester.

Yours sincerely

Anthony Middleton
