Student Assembly

Today we held our first student assembly for the year, with the assembly being run by our student leadership team. The student councilors did a fantastic job running the assembly, where we recognised our hard working students for their efforts this year with merit certificates and announced our Aussie of the Month recipient.

Well done to Alex from year 1 who was awarded the Aussie of the Month certificate for displaying Harmony by ensuring he included new students at recess and lunch time. Great citizenship Alex! Also congratulations to all of our merit certificate winners who are listed below.

During the assembly we also received a visit from the City of Stirling representatives, who awarded Naya from year 5 with her bin stickers. Naya entered the City of Stirling bin poster competition and was awarded first prize for her entry. Well done Naya, your design has now been created into a giant sticker and will be placed on Containers for Change bins throughout the city.

I would also like to acknowledge the students from Room 14 and in particular Charlotte and Yamen who spoke to the audience about their new Eco Warrior program. The students from room 14 will keeping a ‘clean’ eye out for students doing the right thing with rubbish and recycling at recess and lunchtime. The students will be handing out values cards, placing students in the running for a free healthy lunch. Great work promoting sustainability room 14!

Kind Regards

Anthony Middleton
