Changes to School Times

Dear Families

In consultation with our school board and staff, in 2023 we will be implementing changes to our school timetable to create consistent school start and finish times across the week.

As a school, we will no longer be holding an early close each Thursday. This was initially implemented to enable staff to meet collaboratively. However, due to regular school development days and scheduled staff meeting times, the early close is no longer required. 

Dianella Secondary College will also implement consistent start and finish times across the week. This will enable families across the precinct to coordinate pick up and drop offs. 

The decision to move to regular start and finish times was tabled and endorsed by both staff and the school board.

School times for each day in 2023 will be:

Classrooms open for students:            8.35am

Class starts                                          8.50am

School finishes                                    3.00pm 

We also ask that students do not arrive at school prior to 8.15am each day. Families that require care before this time are asked to utilise one of the local before and after school care providers.
