Covid 19 Update

Good Morning Families

School will be open today and all students, unless unwell, are expected to attend as per normal. There will be some additional Covid 19 safety measures in place.

As per government requirements, all adults (including secondary school students) will be required to wear a face mask whilst on school site. Primary school children are not required to wear a face mask. However, parents may chose for their child to wear a mask. Parents dropping students off and picking up at the end of the day must wear a mask. We are also asking that parents adhere to the recommended 1.5 m social distancing rule. This will require parents to spread out at the end of the day and to not crowd around the classroom doors. Parents are allowed into the classroom, however, we do ask that to maintain social distancing, we only have one parent per family, with a maximum of three parents per classroom at any one time.

Whilst at school, all staff will wear face masks unless directly teaching.

As per Education Department guidelines, we will not be holding our planned ANZAC ceremony this morning. I do apologise for this, as I know that a significant amount of effort had gone into the planning for this event and this is an important occasion for our staff and students to commemorate. As a school, we will be holding a small ceremony today to mark the occasion.

This coming Friday we will still be holding our first interschool sports fixture against Nollamara Primary School. Unfortunately, as per government requirements, spectators will not be allowed on school site.

The safety of our students and staff is a priority and as a school we will ensure that we continue to meet government requirements, with additional hygiene and cleaning measures in place. If your child has been required to self isolate due to visiting one of the Covid 19 hot spots, please contact me through the front office to inform the school. As per health department advice, we do ask that any students or parents who are feeling unwell (or who are required to self-isolate) do not attend school or enter the school site. Thank you for you cooperation in this matter.

As we receive further updates, I will continue to let the school community know. However, at this stage these are the current requirements in place until the end of the week.

Kind Regards
