Good Morning
Dear Parents and Caregivers
I hope that everyone is staying well and you are following government advice. At the moment school is very quiet and we are certainly missing the usual daily noises and interactions with our students.
Over the next week you will be receiving an email from your child’s teacher. The email will be informing you about two online learning platforms we will be using, Seesaw and Zoom.
All the students are familiar with SeeSaw, as they have been using it in science and also in the K/PP classes. The app allows teachers to share work, students submit answers and to receive feedback.
The second app that we will be using is called Zoom. This is an online meeting platform, where students will be able to log in and chat with not only their teacher, but also all of the kids in the class.
Teachers have also been busily preparing work packages to go home. These packages will be available for collection from Monday out the front of your child’s classroom. If you do come to collect your work, please just one person to collect items. Packages that are not collected we will post home.
Learning from home and changing the way we are doing things is certainly going to be challenging. As a school we do not expect you to replicate the school environment at home. Just do what you can. There is so many ‘learning opportunities’ that don’t come from traditional books or pen and paper. Take the time to do something different with your kids. Do some cooking or some art work, play a board game or do a treasure hunt in the house. We would also love for you to share what activities you are doing at home. Feel free to take a photo and email or text to the school. If you are happy to share, we will put these onto our social media platforms to let everyone see how we are all going.
