Parking
Dear Parents and Carers
At the end of each day we are having significant and increasing issues with parking. I have spoken to the City of Stirling and asked for a parking ranger to attend the school as some of the practices we are seeing are putting our students at risk.
I would ask that parents please follow these rules:
Do not park in the bus bays
Do not double park/stop in the middle of the road to drop off/pick up students
Do not park/drop students on neighbours lawns (student then have to cross the road)
Do not park on footpaths
Do not drive into the staff car parks
Parents of older student may also like to consider picking students up 5 or 10 minutes later. At 3.10 there is a large amount of car parks available and there is always someone providing supervision at the front of the school until this time.
Due to Covid 19 concerns we are allowing parents of students in Kindergarten, Pre Primary and Year 1 to be collected 10 minutes earlier, siblings of these students are also able to be collected earlier. All other students are to be collected at normal time.
Due to limited parking we are seeing large numbers of parents arriving early to park and wait to collect their children. This is contributing to the problem as car parks are then being used for longer periods of time.
As a school I would ask;
parents of students in year 2 - 6 only not arrive early to get a parking bay - wait until at least 3.00pm to arrive (students are dismissed from class at 3pm and take time to get to the front of the school)
parents of students in K-Yr1 to arrive on time and depart immediately, this will free up spaces for the next set of parents
if there is no park, pleased drive around the block
parents do not block the entrance to Weewack Crt, there is limited space, having multiple cars in there only creates a bottle neck, if there is no spots drive around the block
parents consider parking on Osborne or Cobham Rd and walking, there is ample parking available.
parents use the Kiss and Drive that the Education Support Centre has set up at the top of Laythorne Street
I have a genuine concern for our students safety and if current practices continue we will see an accident. It is all parents responsibility to follow road rules and use common sense around dropping off and picking up students.
Thank you for your support in this.
