Week 5 Update

Dear Parents and Carers

Despite several interruptions to the learning program for several classes this week, we have continued to focus on our teaching and learning program. I would like to thank all of our families who have been following Health Department Guidelines and completing isolation when required.

Face Masks

As I informed our school community yesterday, WA has entered phase 2 restrictions and as a result all students in Years 3 - 6 will now be required to wear a face mask when in class from Thursday 3 March. This decision has been made by the state government in an effort to stop the spread of Covid 19. With students wearing masks in classrooms, this will also stop whole classes being deemed as close contacts and requiring to isolate. Students are asked to supply their own mask. We will have a limited supply of masks at school if anyone forgets. If you have any concerns or questions around this mandate, please contact me through the office or via email.

Mural

Mr Rubuen has continued to work on our school mural this week and it is starting to look sensational. On each of our classroom doors we have an animal totem, with the mural reflecting the classes totem. Our Room 1 Kaarda totem is certainly looking muditj! Great work Rubeun and Room 1.

Free Dress Day

This Friday our school Parents and Citizens Committee will be holding a free dress day. For a gold coin donation, students can leave their uniform at home for the day and wear something different. Thanks for supporting this fundraising initiative.

Birthdays

Due to the current situation with Covid 19, we are asking that parents do not bring in food to share for children's birthdays. I know that children do enjoy celebrating their birthday in class and being made to feel special on their big day. However, to ensure we are not unnecessarily potentially exposing students, we are asking parents not to bring in cakes or cupcakes to share. Thank you for your understanding and support in this.

Public Holiday

Reminder to all families that there is no school this Monday 7 March, it is a public holiday for all of WA. Students to return on Tuesday 8 March.

Enjoy your long weekend.

Kind regards
