Week 7 Update

Harmony Week

This week students, across the Dianella Education Precinct have been celebrating Harmony Week. During the week students have participated in a number of different activities at the secondary school. Activities included; Henna tattoos, food tasting, language competitions, mapping activities, dance and musical performances. Students were also encouraged to wear their national dress on Monday, and we had a very large number of students and teachers proudly wearing a variety of colourful costumes and traditional dress from around the world. Thanks to Mrs Davey, our choir did a spectacular job performing in front of a very large audience, as did Anastasia and Stefanija who performed traditional Macedonian songs to the combined schools. Great work, you were both very confident and should be proud of your efforts. Thanks to Mrs Goodall for all of her hard work in coordinating all of the events, the students had a harmonious time.

Room 5 Assembly

Room 5 presented the first classroom assembly for the year and did a fantastic job informing the school community about how they could support our sustainability programs. Mrs Parry’s class along with Sustainable Superman told us how we could go waste free, recycle containers for change and why it is important to look after our environment. Great work room 5! Well done to all of our merit certificate winners.

Aussies of the Month

At the assembly we also recognised two of our students for displaying our school values and awarded them the Aussie of the Month awards, well done to Tbark for her responsibility and to Buriy for his Harmony. Well done to you both.

Swimming Carnival

Today students from Yr 3-6 participated in our school swimming carnival.. The students had a great day participating in formal swimming events along with some more unusual fun events. With the temperature nearing 40 degrees, it was a great day to spend at the pool. Well done to Ruby who came out as the winning faction and a huge thank you to Mrs Farmer for all of her hard work coordinating the event. The students certainly enjoyed the day.

Good Standing

As you will be aware, we are having a whole school focus on student attendance and arriving to school on time. As part of our good standing program, students will be rewarded with an eggciting activity a the end of term. Participation in this event is dependent on continued good behaviour and regular attendance. Unless unwell, students are expected to attend school every day and on time. Thank you for supporting the school in this.
