Week 9 Update

Movie Night

Last Friday evening the P&C held the very successful Movie Night, with over 300 students and family members enjoying an evening under the stars watching the Croods movie. Congratulations to Alex who was the lucky winner of the door prize, kindly donated by Pimlott and Strand. A huge thank you to our hard working P&C for coordinating the evening and in particular a big thank you to Melissa Ozich for overseeing the whole event. Melissa organised the community grant from the City of Stirling, making the night free for all of our families. Thank you for all of your efforts!

Books In Home Assembly

At this weeks assembly not only did we recognise our hardworking students with merit certificates, we were also lucky enough to be able to provide all of our senior students with books. With thanks to Ausenco and the Books in Homes program, all of our year 4-6 students received three books each to take home to enjoy over the holidays. During the assembly we also heard from local author Sandi Parsons who shared her experiences starting out as an author. This is the third year that Dianella PC has been involved in the books in homes program and we certainly appreciate the generosity and ongoing support from Ausenco. Well done to all of our award winners who are listed below.

Faction Reward

Congratulations to sapphire who were the winning faction for Term 1. The students from sapphire all received a sausage sizzle today for their efforts in collecting the most faction points throughout the term. Thanks to Darren, Mr Fonseca and Mrs Brown for their expert BBQing skills and ensuring everyone was fed. Well done sapphire!

Open Night

On Tuesday evening we held our annual school open night, with parents and family members invited into the classrooms to see how their children have been progressing over the term as well as setting some goals for the remainder of the year. This year we also held our first ever dance concert with students from PP-Yr 3 presenting their Dance Till You Drop performances. The Dance Till You Drop program was very successful and well received, with students learning a dance routine over the term to present. Thank you to our P&C committee for subsidising the dance program and making the activity more affordable for all of our families. On the evening we were also entertained buy our school choir and a senior class dance performance. Well done to Mrs Davey for coordinating the choir and Ms Samardija for working with the senior students to get them ready for their performance. On the evening we also drew our P&C raffle, with some great prizes being awarded. Congratulations to the following students and thanks to our generous sponsors.

All of the executive committee positions will be vacant and we encourage all families and interested parents to become involved. The P&C supports the school in organising fund raising and community events and is open to all parents, we’d love to see you there supporting your school
