Covid 19 Update

Dear Parents and Caregivers,

I am writing to let you know of some changes to gatherings at school sites we will be making to minimise the number of students and staff impacted by the presence of a person in our school community who unknowingly may be COVID positive.

The Chief Health Officer has advised that schools should limit in-school gatherings of students and staff to class groups or small groups within a year level.  This is to minimise the number of students or staff impacted by the presence of a positive case.  As a result, we will be cancelling whole school indoor activities, such as our assembly. We will still be presenting Honour Certificates in classes. We will also be making changes to our regular staff meetings, moving these to a digital platform to avoid whole staff gatherings as well.

Unfortunately, we will also be cancelling our normal start of the year Welcome Workshops, where parents were invited in to meet the teacher and learn about classroom routines. Teachers will send home this information via the Connect platform in the next week or so.

I would like to thank all of our parents and caregivers who have been wearing masks whilst on school grounds. I know that it is not necessary to wear masks whilst outdoors, however this is certainly demonstrating that parents and visitors are taking into consideration the health and well-being of our students. Thank you.

If you have any questions in relation to these changes, please do not hesitate to contact me.

We will continue to provide your child with quality teaching and learning as we take sensible and proportionate actions to respond to the changing environment we are living in with COVID-19.

Regards,
