Week 2 Update

Year 2 Assembly

Well done to our Yr 2 students from Rm’s 9&10 who combined for this weeks assembly. The students did a great job with their public speaking in front of a large audience and happily shared their learning about ‘olden day’ games and the continents of the world. Well done Yr 2’s it was very entertaining and I don’t think anyone will be forgetting the names of the continents after your catchy performance. Congratulations also to our students who were recognised for their ongoing display of our school values and received an Honour Certificate. Please see the full list of winners below.

Aussie of the Month

Congratulations to Eliza from Yr 6 who was named Octobers Aussie of the Month. Eliza was nominated by Mrs Gullick for demonstrating kindness and consideration, by ensuring that all of her classmates were included, well done Eliza.

Boola Bardip

Our Yr 6 students headed into the new Perth museum, Boola Bardip, this week to take in Perth’s newest world class facility and to also consolidate their History learning for Term 4. By all accounts the students enjoyed catching public transport nearly as much as the new museum! If you haven’t had the opportunity to visit, it is certainly well worth the effort making the trip into the city to visit, with the best part there is no cost for families to enter.

Swimming

As I mentioned last week, our in term swimming lessons will be starting on the 8 Nov and running for two weeks. Please ensure you return your child’s swimming form and payment before this date. It is expected that all students will participate in swimming lessons.

Food Share Festival

Did you know that we are calling for all of budding Master Chefs to enter into our Cooking Competition for the upcoming Food Share Festival on Thursday 4 Nov? All students from K-6 have the opportunity to win some great prizes by entering any food item on the day, with winners being announced during the afternoon cooking performance. We will have 4 competitions, Group 1: Kindy and PP, Group 2: Yr 1 & 2, where students will require full supervision and support in the kitchen, Group 3: Yr 3 & 4 students, who will hopefully be able to be a bit more independent in their cooking and Group 4: Yr 5 & 6 students, who will be expected to complete their cooking independently. Two judges are lined up for each group and they are certainly looking forward to tasting some amazing cooking. Please see the Food Share booklet for full details. https://www.dianellapc.wa.edu.au/pc-blog/pampc-food-celebration-documents

Connect

As I mentioned last week, we are encouraging all parents to become familiar with the the Education Departments Online learning tool, Connect. If you haven’t already accessed your child’s account it is essential that you do become familiar with the platform. If there is sufficient parental interest, we will run a parent workshop on accessing Connect. Please complete the brief questionnaire to register your interest. https://forms.office.com/r/9Uh3y09gFp
