Week 9 Update

Year 6 Camp

This week our Year 6 students were fortunate enough to head off to school camp in the Swan Valley at Swan Valley Adventure Camp. Students completed a number of different challenging activities and certainly stepped outside of their normal routines. I was very pleased to hear positive feedback from the staff at the camp about our students and how well they behaved and how respectful and appreciative they were to the staff,. Well done Year 6’s, we are very proud of how well you represented our school. Thanks to Ms Coppins, Miss Vince, Mrs Ash and Mrs Price for giving up their own personal time away their families to take the students on camp, it was definitely appreciated by the students.

Dianella Diamonds

There was certainly some very excited students around the school this week after Mrs Davey announced the finalists for our school talent show, Dianella Diamonds. Students were given the opportunity to present an item and had to work their way through class heats and semi-finals to make their way through to the Grand Final. Well done to all of our students for trying out and congratulations to our finalists, listed below, who will be competing this coming Tuesday 22 June from 11 am in the school hall. Parents of the finalists are invited to attend, it is certainly going to be entertaining.

P&C Food Share Festival

Plans are being finalised for our upcoming Community Food Share event, that will be held on Thursday 1 July from 12pm. On the day there will be a number of activities taking place.

Kids in the Kitchen Cooking Competition - students are able to cook an item at home to be submitted into our cooking competition. There will be two groups a junior (some parent assistance in cooking/preparing) and a senior competition (no parent assistance). Students who enter will be eligible to win some great prizes.

Mini Master Chef Cook Off - on the day, two lucky students from each class will be invited to participate in a Cooking Competition that will be held at school. Competitors will be randomly selected from each class and then required to prepare a dish for the chance to win their whole class some tasty prizes.

Food & Recipe Share - families are asked to contribute a plate of food and the recipe, to share with all of students and families.

On the day, the P&C Committee are looking for volunteers to help out with organisation and food serving. If you are able to help and would like to get involved, please contact any member of the P&C at school or send an email through to pcdianella@gmail.com to let us know of your availability.

Please keep an eye out for the full details in the booklet that will be sent home with students next week. We are very much looking forward to what promises to be a very entertaining and tasty day and hope you will be able to join us.
