Our literacy approach is supported by evidence-based whole-school programs including Heggerty, UFLI and Word Origins. Our literacy approach is strengthened through carefully planned knowledge units, designed to build students’ background knowledge, vocabulary and understanding of the world around them. Students engage in a consistent, uninterrupted literacy block four days per week. Our clearly defined whole-school structures ensure consistency of practice across year levels and classrooms, while allowing teachers to respond to the individual needs of their students.
