Principals Welcome

Welcome to Dianella Primary College. I am incredibly proud to be the Principal of our wonderful school.

At Dianella, we want every child to learn, grow and feel that they belong. We provide a well-rounded education, with a strong focus on literacy and numeracy alongside opportunities in the arts, science, technologies and physical education.

Since 2025, we have had a strong whole-school focus on improving teaching and learning, particularly in literacy and numeracy. All of our teachers are trained in evidence-based literacy practices, and we have seen a steady improvement in student achievement across these areas. For our younger students, this consistent approach is simply how they have always learnt at Dianella.

Just as importantly, we keep a close eye on the progress of every student. Our strong assessment and intervention practices help us identify children who need additional support early, so that no child simply slips through the gaps. We also recognise when students are ready to be challenged and extended.

Of course, school is about much more than academic achievement. We want our students to be happy, confident and connected. Social and emotional learning is an important part of what we do, and our many community events throughout the year bring our students, staff and families together.

Dianella is a wonderfully diverse school and there is a genuine warmth about our community. It is a place where people know each other, families are welcomed and, most importantly, children belong.
